BMW has unveiled the Concept Skytop, a two-seater coupe without a roof, inspired by the Z8 and 503 models, at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.

The Skytop’s design includes characteristic elements such as the thin taillights and shark-shaped front end of the Z8, along with a sculpted hood and flat rear reminiscent of the 503. BMW describes the Skytop as a unique combination of driving dynamics and elegance.

Despite its exclusive design, the Skytop has proportions similar to the 8 Series and uses the 617 horsepower V-8 engine from the M8 Competition. The interior also resembles the 8 Series, with a digital dashboard, infotainment screen, and leather details, suggesting that BMW used an M8 as the basis for the concept. The custom roll bar with retractable window and the two-piece removable roof are unique highlights.

Although based on potential production features, it is unlikely that the Skytop will be mass-produced, as BMW already offers coupe and convertible versions of the 8 Series. The concept showcases exclusive aesthetics and the fusion of classic design with modern technology, but its viability as a mass production model remains uncertain.
